I often think that average people are determined to not be shocked. Hell, autistics too. It's like a defense mechanism to strike an affect like nothing really matters. It's only a movie after all. Like it's an emotional armour built up from watching years of media violence and spectacle. Nobody gets SHOCKED!! anymore. It ain't the 90's. lol.
