A shortcut to this might be to pick a popular model that's no longer produced and set up some sort of remanufacturing business to churn them out at a competitive price.

Thinking something like a 2000s Ford Ranger or a 90s-2001 Jeep Cherokee.

Both have plenty of aftermarket support and there are still a lot of them around and there's nothing like them currently available new.
