I am 36, I was raised by Boomers and as a kid whenever you fucked up they would tell you to be responsible
But personal responsibility is a conservative value today. They generally want to be responsible for themselves and have the government do less for them and get it of the way.
So how did we get raised by people who seemed conservative but were actually leftists in the end?
Imo they have been totally mk ultrad by the media. My parents are boomers, always conservative Catholic, loved bush
These days, after a decade of religiously watching the nightly local and national news, they despise Trump and my dad backs trannies in men's sports. Totally baffling behavior unless they were brainwashed. They're not the same people they were even in early 2010s.
I worked billing and tech support for a cable company briefly in my 20s. Was able to see how much of the average cable bill is tax and surcharges. Couldnt pay for that in good conscience ever again, assume its even worse now. I ended up refusing to split the cable bill with roommates back before I owned my house. Been almost 15 years now that I haven't had cable in the home. Feels pretty good. I love the crazy looks I get from Boomers when I tell them. They'll ask "well how do you get your news?" to which I reply, "I have a journalism degree, the last thing I need is to get my news from TV corporations". Usually evokes a real life version of the NPC meme or Pikachu face meme lol
