I am a boomer. My personal beliefs are Conservative, but I was put in the leftist category by conservative Republicans because I was anti war, since the Viet Nam war, I always had an intuition that the government covered up things, and for most of my life it was Republicans running the government, I myself tried to disengage with a lot of modern life, the rat race, etc, which immediatly caused people to label me a hippie. I wanted a simple, almost monastic life to be as close to the natural world and God, hippie labeled. I hated the AMA and big pharm before it was trendy, saw all the government sponsered welfare as a terrible trap to keep people poor, some called me anti USA for that, was eating organic and using herbs for healing since the 70's. Things have come full circle. I would be the first person to prepare meals for someone hardworking who fell on bad luck, that is my Gospel talking to me, so, the leftist mentality of some of my peers comes from the fairy tales they were told by the Democrats, that urban renewal would save the poor, that liberal social ideas would help women. Good ideas and bad ideas got thrown into a pot, mixed and stirred and cooked by a media corporation that does not care at all. Wisdom comes from experience, yes, but how many who live in an elite world, or strive to be that, have experienced anything real? I do not know that many liberals anymore, my good friends are sensible humble people, still working well into their 60's and seventies. Acquaintances that are peers are total hypocrites, the liberal ones. The Bernie people my age are the worse. Claiming they are liberal and want all the social services in the world to "take care" of the "marginalized", but do not even know the workers who come to their homes to fix their driveways or solar panels, they don't know their first names, nor are there any workers or blacks on their friends page on FB, and certainly seek just as many tax breaks that they can. Maybe it makes them feel young and hip, the sixties was a wild ride and I am glad to say I am still here and well and on the right path for a long time, only because I turned to God. They are so buffered from everything, and then go and watch MSM to tell them the outrage of the week. It is only since MAGA have I met other like minded people regarding health, food, toxins and pharm, before that all of my values were labelled as leftist,as recently as Bush.
