Definitely became more interested in reading the bible and other texts from Jesus' time.

It hit me hard when it came to me that most secular reading was just a precursor to video games, Netflix, pop music.. i.e. a distraction

I used to pour so much energy into understanding/emphasizing w/"challenging" reading material, but I suspect the original intent of it was just to swallow up people's time and divert them from better things.
