NEW: Private jet crashes into a San Diego military neighborhood early Thursday morning, resulting in multiple de*ths.
The plane crashed into about 15 homes, according to San Diego Fire-Rescue Department Assistant Chief Dan Eddy.
"We do believe we have multiple fatalities, but we’re going to have to go through and take our time and ensure that's exactly what we have," he said.
The plane was traveling from Wichita, Kansas, and was set to land at Montgomery-Gibbs Executive Airport in San Diego.
As of this moment, no one on the ground was k*lled.
"The good thing that we have was we have not transported anybody off scene from any of these areas here right now. And we’re searching through to make sure that nobody’s in any of those homes."
The crash took place around 4 am this morning in the fog.
