I know - reread my (probably poorly-worded) comment. "That post has always bothered me because he spelled DECLAS wrong ".

When I was in the military I was used to seeing "DECLAS on OADR" on classified messages. When Q would say "DECLASS" I always saw it as a spelling error. It is like if 100 years ago people spelled "Bless You" as "Bles You". Then one day they stopped and started spelling it "Bless You". Well if you were used to seeing "Bles You", adding the extra "S" would look really odd.
