Turns out he had a bowling alley built into the WH during Watergate. Wore a "Checkered shirt" with a "Don Carter" Ball. Don Carter? The "Checkered" shirt part, I suspect was a comm tied to Nixon's original good/bad press relationship.

So what then is Bowling as a comm? If I consider all the comms so far one answer comes to mind above all others.
