The time to boycott Walmart was decades ago. Before they drove the bulk of the smaller or local stores out of business.
Where else are many people going to shop? at specialty shops that are 3x as expensive in a down economy? or online with Amazon? Same evil different pile.
That said - anywhere there are local or smaller options people should absolutely still try to avoid Wal mart if at all possible.
Absolutely. I use my local grocery store as much as I can. Family owned, five or six nice big clean stores. Prices are a tad higher than Wallyworld but worth it. Same for my local hardware store, family owned, one store that's been in my town for decades.
Still, sometimes there just isn't a good choice for some things but the big box stores.
