"Drug growing operations"? It's just Marijuana. We wouldn't call a large field of tobacco plants a "drug growing operation" even though tobacco is also a plant that gets grown that is also considered a drug.
The feds should have more important shit to worry about than pot. This is pathetic.
Preliminary numbers show 70-75 illegal immigrants were detained in the operation, according to law enforcement sources.
Have an ICE day.....
It's legal to grow and use Marijuana in California. You just don't do it on Federal Land.
I know people who grow them.
The number of plants an individual can grow without a commercial license is limited. A "giant" operation would definitely require a commercial license. Where you can get a commercial license to grow and/or sell is regulated by the county and varies widely. I doubt the county could issue a permit for federal land.
Course not on federal land, and there are many in Humboldt County growing on their own land.
It sounds like Humboldt County is generous with the commercial permits (or the cops don't care to enforce regulations). San Diego County is not. When cannabis was first legalized, people interested in becoming growers were frustrated at the extreme restrictions on permits in San Diego. In an ironic twist of fate, the Franchise Tax Board was counting on collecting big $ in state revenue from legalized cannabis. FTB was very frustrated with the counties that were restricting their new cash cow!
It's about the illegals not the pot , we don't care about pot, we care about criminals...
They can't tax illegal grows!
