So I keep seeing posts on fakebook about how the BB Bill will put federally owned lands up for sale. BLM and Forest Service lands. The posts are screaming about how the rich and big companies will now be able to buy our public lands and lock us out. I read through a summery of the bill and cannot find anything about this. I was wondering if anyone here has heard of this or could point me to the section of the bill that they are talking about. I am sure that they are misinterpreting something. If not, I have some land already picked out for my homestead !** EDIT to add that it may be on the senate reconciliation side. See comment below**.

It might be part of the senates reconciliation part ? https://www.outdooralliance.org/blog/2025/6/16/33millionacres-publicland-selloffs-map/?ms=map
Here is a good article I just found explaining the " Lee Amendment" Apparently it is in response to Trumps pledge to increase affordable housing. Link to Article
Glenn Beck interviews Mike Lee about the bill https://rumble.com/v6v18i3-sen-mike-lee-debunks-wild-claims-us-gov-selling-federal-land.html
I have not heard about it being in the OBBB, but I know Trump is going to open up lands for minerals and energy resources.
Can you tell me more about the lies?
I could not find the text in the bill regarding sale of land from the Bureau of Land Management. Maybe I did not use the correct search terms.
All the stories I have seen on the internet regarding this do not reference or link to a section in the bill. Maybe it's taken out of context? I don't know.
I only came across this story because as a 2nd Amendment enthusiast, the normies were bitching and moaning about this on a message board, blaming Trump, because they think the public land they plink/camp/offroad on will be sold.
Edit: nvm saw the link posted to utahpla.com. will take a look.
"because they think the public land they plink/camp/offroad on will be sold" Yep that is what I have been seeing too.
Why wouldn't it be? The land first sold will be the land most accessible, which means that's the recreation land. "Oh but the billionaires and China left you BLM land on this rugged mountaintop, just go there!"
The state of California is 41% federally owned. Diane feinstein sponsored the dessert land protection bill. I'm sure anything she does is for bad reasons. There's tons of water oil gas minerals and timber locked in fed owned land. I'd love to know what happens with the timber money when they clear cut big chunks of forest because it seems to me like they put in in their pockets.
I'm all for releasing a few % of the fed land it's not like the redwood forest or old faithful in Yellowstone are going to be sold
Or they'll just buy it and put it in the possession of an immortal corporation so that if at any point in the next 500 years they could use that land, they can use it.
People who shout about 'freedom' while advocating for this sale have no idea how free it is to have BLM land that isn't fenced off by some shithead.
