This sounds like a futile tantrum. Close it by doing what? Air patrols? Bomb the airfields. Shore-to-Ship missiles? Hit the launch emplacements. Submarines? Intensive anti-submarine warfare from the air. Their own ports and refineries along the Persian Gulf would be bottled up, and the ones on the Gulf of Oman could be bombed out of operation. It just sounds like a mess. I suspect they may change their decision, once this futility comes to mind.
