wow. you believe that stat? It doesn't pass the sniff test. Maybe you are around rich folk that don't look after their own?

No, the majority of 79-year-olds are not in senior care facilities; most older adults live in their own homes or with family, and while the average age of nursing home residents is around 79-81, this is not representative of the entire 79-year-old population. In fact, only about 5% of older adults (65+) reside in nursing homes, and around 2% are in assisted living facilities.

Can confirm. I'm 77, and live the same way I did when I was 30. When the OP gets to be SJT's age, I hope he remembers how silly he was in 2025.
