Where do you live that sales tax is only 1%? I'm in Alabama and it's 4% for state tax, Plus city/county tax depending on where you live. Where I live there are a few different cities, so depending on where you shop it is - 9.5% - 11%. We pay tax on everything here, including all food.
Thank goodness the sales tax on food in my area is only 1% otherwise inflation would be giving the guvmint even more money for a gallon of O.J.
