In Ireland and the Netherlands, property tax is basically 0.1%, the UK has no property tax to my knowledge. It's such an insane concept that the US pays roughly 10x that of Ireland/NL.
I mean, wasn't the US literally founded on not paying tax? I know that's not the only reason, but it's a popular simplification of the casus belli for the War of Independence.
