I worked for Ma Bell for over twenty years from ~1980 - 2000. Today, it's Cingular with a stolen trademark. It is no longer the locus of scientific, mathematical and engineering innovation that it was for almost a century. The Judiciary brought it down in 1984 and it took another twenty years to die.
I was and still am very proud of my service with the company.
