oh man consider yourself lucky that you don't have sinus problems. My sinuses are extremely sensitive - I just took a Sudafed (the good kind) because my sinuses are stuffy and I've already sneezed six times this morning. There is pollen everywhere where I am at right now
edit to add: We went to go watch the eclipse in Missouri, stayed at my aunt's house in Clarksville, TN - during the drive the air was so thick with 'allergens' it was at the highest level - when we got back home it had turned into a full blown Sinus Infection, I was running fevers as high as 105 (which i jumped into a very cold shower because that's danger zone) and within an hour i would be down into 96 degrees. basically my body temperature was swinging almost 10 degrees with a couple hours. That was the worst one yet.
Anyway, this is something I have been battling since a kid.
I had two sinus infection every year since moving to DC over 50 years ago. During Covid, I started taking ivermectin every 10 days to two weeks for 3 days. Haven't had any sinus problems since.
Extreme allergies are absolute misery. I watched them up close and personal and I have sympathy. It's debilitating while it lasts.
I make a mullein extract that works excellent for upper respiratory congestion due to post nasal drip from allergies. Simple recipe of mullein leaves and/or flowers and vodka. Close jar, let sit a few weeks in cool dark location. Then 70 or so drops in a little water. I feel the congestion breaking up in less than 10 min.
For sinus relief I’ve found cheap store brand saline spray to work extremely well to break up snot and clear it out. Again, like the mullein, no side effects, inexpensive, effective.
Sounds too simple? Nothing to lose by trying it!!! Keeps me going when there’s the spring pollen storm happening.
