Cursive writing is so important for brain development. It allows us to absorb the information as we write it. I can personally attest to how that works. I went to nursing school a bit later in life than most, and there is so much to absorb in so little time. I started writing my own "powerpoint" type of notes because just reading and re-reading the info didn't work for me. I would outline chapters and the outlines were quite long. If I was having trouble understanding a concept, I'd write it once or twice more. My grades were decent to begin with, but using cursive writing to study bumped them up to an exceptional level. A few of my classmates adapted the method, and their grades, and comprehension also increased. If your schools don't teach cursive, and most don't, teach your children yourself. It's a valuable skill.
