I met him in 2000 when Al Gore was running. I was leaving a hotel in Cedar Rapids and he was walking in (Gore was staying there that night). He looked at me and smiled! I said “You are James Carville, correct? “. He said, “Yes sir, nice to meet you!” I said “No, you’re an asshole!” And walked on. That night I was hassled trying to get in to the hotel. I got stopped by SS three times ( the garage, lobby and elevator) and had to provide ID. They never asked me about calling him an asshole, maybe that was just standard practice, or they agreed with me…

Good call on letting him know what many of us think of people like him. It wasn't a threat, so no reason for SS to get overly excited about it.
