I am disappointed that people are down voting you. No one wants to take responsibility for where they chose to live & the inherent dangers or hazards. There is a huge lack of self reliance in the U.S.! These people are like the emotional narcissistic morons who want to take close up pictures of bison at National parks and end up being gored or trampled.
I chalk it up to the ignorance resulting from lack of experience. The reaction seems to be one of indignation, and a corresponding search for the guilty. Where I come from, if anyone complains about the heavy rainfall, we all have a hearty laugh and suggest they move to another state.
Not necessarily. Life is not accident free & guarantee life. People need to know the risks of the area in which they live. Individual communities with high risks must have cohesive communication & contingency plans.
It is certainly true that Texas, being the Most Christian State, is attacked with Weather Manipulation often. The argument that these floods were natural (i.e. send by God) is far fetched in the extreme though
Aaaand the Top Christ Following State of The Year Award goes tooooo....
Mississippi and Alabama:
These states consistently rank at the top for Christian affiliation and religious observance.
Bible Belt:
The "Bible Belt" is a cultural region in the Southeastern and Southwestern United States where Christianity, particularly Protestantism, is a dominant cultural and social influence.
Other Notable States:
Louisiana, Arkansas, West Virginia, and Oklahoma also have high percentages of Christians, with varying denominations including Protestant and Catholic.
Factors:
Several factors contribute to these states' high Christian populations, including historical settlement patterns, cultural traditions, and strong adherence to religious beliefs.
Texas is, IMHO, the Most Christian State because it most consistently acts in the Most Christian manner, in that it is most devoted to the course of absolutist freedom
yes it was a.i. generated. lazy, perhaps. but i stand by it.
and yours is not a humble opinion, my friend. I'm just glad you said that though. I spent some time in Texas last week, and loved it. No surprise to me, as I used to live there. Truly a great place.
Things that happen in the past will happen in the present and in the future, especially with weather, which has a statistical distribution entailing extremes both of presence and absence. I think God generally lets weather be what it is. We are supposed to deal with it.
The mirage is dazzling. As though flash floods never happened in Texas before.

personal responsibility and self reliance is what Texas branding is all about. So it's obviously someone elses fault.
