Some integrate just fine. The problem is more about the “melting pot” assimilation that doesn’t occur when you overwhelm the country with immigrants. Instead they go in their little clusters.
The correct thing is that when they are "few", they integrate fine. When they are "many" they don't integrate.
Cultural similarity is also an issue. Germans, Scots, French, Poles, etc can integrate perfectly into American society for many reasons. Indians are very different to the ethnicities I mentioned.
Its not an end-all-be-all though, it's of course possible for a non-culturally-similar individual to integrate very well into America, take a look at the Siamese twins. Keep in mind that they probably the only "two" Siamese in America.
