Could be. After a brief search for his name, he appears to have been a 'controversial' figure as of 2020 in the medical field due to his recommendations for HCQ and dismissals of the masks.

Anyone that hospital boards (who turned out to be the greatest villains) felt compelled to 'distance' themselves from sounds like a guy making all the right calls early on.
