Consider if the Elon / Trump feud is a ploy. Trump is out of office in 3 years. When he's out what happens if things stay 2 party? The corruption continues, more theft, more bribery, etc. But if the plan was to do exactly what Musk is doing by creating a third party that gains enough traction to keep the Trump gains from being reversed. A third party might not be big enough to win elections but that's not what they want. Instead for anything to happen both uni-parties will need to court the American party, thus making it very valuable.

Musk hates the spending but he knew what Trump was doing and why. Trump put him in place to see for himself how the Dems play the game and how they line their pockets. The feud is cover to start that party now and give Musk and Trump 3 years to strategize on how to keep everyone in line. In essence the new party holds the Trump card on anything either party proposes. If it is good for the country it moves forward but if it isn't, it fails.
