These payments were something earned by both my spouse and I that had been denied because we earned public service pensions - even though we'd earned enough SS credits in other jobs to qualify. My CPA told me years ago that it was one of the last great inequities of the government and that it would someday be corrected. This was the year - we both have had our (very small) SS payments increased by what we actually earned. Our payments are still not huge, but they're finally fair. It's the only thing for which I feel obligated to thank Biden.
