I think the hoax part is that Epstein was a blackmailer just providing young girls and taking pictures for blackmail purposes. I myself believed that. now after I have listening to serval other opinions believe Epstein did provide the girls but there was no black mailing going on.

What he did was worse than black mail. He was the bag man for terrorism, regime change, assassinations and all sorts of other stuff internationally for both governments and private corporations....The hoax of blackmail is to move everyone away from looking at these other crimes...

Epstein was a pedophile and did traffic the girls, but he never threatened any of these rich businessmen and world leaders. he was just wining and dining them in an effort to arrange the business of worldwide manipulation of governments.

You do not black mail individuals like Prince Andrew or Bill Gates. if you did you might find yourself dead because they have the resources to do it and because Epstein arranged stuff like this financially he knew this. that said Epstein's life to these same individuals was over the moment he became a liability
