I'd sure like to know why there is such a massive worldwide need for human blood and organs. The push for it is everywhere, to the point of stories about travelers in foreign countries being murdered for their kidneys and probably much worse.
Who is it that wants all that blood and all those human organs, and why?
(I suspect that somebody is using it to make some kind of longevity tonic, but that's just a guess.)
There is a YUGE Black Market for organs worldwide.
The term "black market for organs" refers to the illegal trade of human organs for transplantation. Key aspects of the black market for organs Motivation: This illicit trade is fueled by a severe imbalance between the high demand for organs and the limited supply from legal, voluntary donations. Targeting the vulnerable: Organ trafficking often preys on vulnerable individuals in impoverished communities or developing countries who are coerced or exploited into selling their organs, often without fully understanding the risks or receiving fair compensation. Transplant tourism: Individuals in need of transplants may travel to countries with less stringent regulations to obtain organs more easily, contributing to what's known as "transplant tourism". Global phenomenon: Organ trafficking is a transnational criminal enterprise operating globally, despite being illegal in most countries. Profitable but dangerous: The black market for organs is highly profitable, with conservative annual estimates of illegal profits ranging between US$840 million and US$1.7 billion. However, those selling organs may only receive a small fraction of the final price, and face significant health risks. Ethical and legal concerns Exploitation: The core issue of the black market for organs is the exploitation of vulnerable populations and the violation of their autonomy and human rights. Health Risks: Sellers of organs on the black market often face serious health complications due to inadequate medical care and post-operative support. Medical Integrity: The involvement of medical professionals and facilities in illicit organ procurement raises concerns about the integrity of medical practices. Combating organ trafficking Efforts to combat the black market for organs focus on strengthening international cooperation, enacting stricter laws and regulations, raising awareness about the risks, and addressing the root causes of vulnerability that drive people into this desperate trade. Important Note: The sale or purchase of human organs is illegal in many countries, including the United States, as outlined in the National Organ Transplant Act.
