It seems that Sergio played a significant role in Mani Pulite in Italy in the 90-ties, an investigation into the wide spread commingling of organized crime, political parties and businesses.
The fall out of this caused the collapse of the Italian first Republic.
And many parties and officials were caught up in scandal.
It seems that the Italian police keeps open that foul play is involved: i.e. murder.
