I left out General Allenby dropped leaflets over Jerusalem telling the Ottoman - controlled forces to surrender.

Dec. 8-9, 1917 “surrender the city immediately, you don’t have a prayer” -Allenby.

The story goes at an Arabic, the general’s name resemble “Al-Nebi” = “The Prophet” —-> quite a fluke of history.
