Well, historically, there are a lot of Republican ideals in great awakening.
But yeah, there are some distinctly un-Republican stuff here.
Because I'm in a conversation here with people who think it's a dandy idea to force taxpayers to pay to house, feed, clothe, and provide Healthcare to homeless people and junkies because, and I quote:
What price is too high for a better society ?
Several people there seem to be very upset that I think, instead of forcing taxpayers to foot this cost, we first, 1.expect people to put on their big boy and big girl panties and take care of themselves, 2. in the cases of people who legitimately need help, that their families become involved before forcing the bill on the US taxpayer, and then barring that, 3. Just use the laws we already have in place over things like vagrancy, destruction of property, drug use, panhandling etc...and enforcing them very strictly.
This seems to be more in lines with what liberals would argue for, and definitely not Republican. So, yeah, I guess...
🤷♀️
I was only referring to the notion that we can't talk poorly about Republicans here. We can and absolutely have for years. Its ok to hold traditionally liberal and conservative ideals at the same time. Governing isn't black/white or left/right all or nothing.
As far as your points about government spending helping out people, the 10th amendment says that what powers aren't given to the federal government are thereby left to the states. Would you be ok with government assistance if it came from the local and state governments, paid for with local and state taxes and voted on and supported by the constituents of those governments?
This is the great awakening. We are not republicans.

So we can suddenly trust that elections and votes are valid?
Inform people and scrutinize the process. You only have 2 options to change the government, and I prefer the peaceful option.
