I'm not sure you can fight such a serious war without any losses. Maybe it's only possible to minimize the losses as much as you can. How many people got sick since the Trump administration knew the pandemic was fake? Could Trump do anything about it without causing a worse crisis at the time? Same with these killer wars in Gaza and Ukraine. Could we have stopped them sooner? Are we still paying for the weapons? I don't know.
