The problem is that it doesn't remain just a matter between two consenting adults. With marriage came adoption of children. We've had the horror of pedophile couples adopting children and abusing them, even to death. Where do they get these children? They don't produce them themselves. How many come from the Child Protective Services? How many are children taken from those politically disfavored groups (Christians, anti-vaxxers, etc)?
