Considering that it seems like you want to rescind their ability to engage in secular marriage, yes I would argue you don't want to treat them like human beings.

Marriage is not a qualifier of being human or not. It's religious not governmental. There is no gay marriage in religion.
If you get stuck talking to leftists on x then that sounds like a you problem. You could always just disengage but if your "participation" here is any indication to how you communicate with others you don't agree with then I would point out that you bring it upon yourself.
