Over one million residents in central Maryland, especially Baltimore metro, warned of potential widespread blackouts this afternoon/evening.
• Cause: Unplanned disconnection of a major power plant (likely Brandon Shores) due to a substation failure.
• Impact Area: Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Harford County, Frederick County, and nearby areas; residences, hospitals, military, and water treatment plants at risk.
• Actions: BGE coordinating with plant owner for repairs.
PJM Interconnection evaluating power supply to avoid shortages.
They are asking all residents to Conserve energy: Raise thermostats, use fans, close blinds, delay appliance use, turn off non-essential devices.
• They are also asking residents to Prepare: Store water, food, charge devices, keep flashlights, secure medical equipment backups.

PSEG, under PJM’s direction, plans to build a 70-mile, 500,000-volt transmission line from Pennsylvania’s Peach Bottom nuclear plant to substations in Frederick and Baltimore Counties, ultimately feeding electricity to data centers in Northern Virginia. Costing $424 million and targeting completion by June 2027.
• The project requires access to 600 private properties, including 518 acres of prime FARMLAND.
• If landowners refuse easements, PSEG is poised to use EMINENT DONAIN, a move greenlit I just found out by a federal judge in June 2025 allowing surveys.
• The Maryland Public Service Commission (PSC) holds the final say, with public hearings set for November 2025.

Or compound? I mean the biggest fear for law enforcement is a total blackout and no power. Then the evil comes out and goes house to house.
