Psychopaths have no souls. You must have empathy in order to build a soul. They have no empathy, and therefore no conscience and no soul. This is why they can do the horrific things they do.

One school of thought says that when psychopaths die, they remain and become the entities known as "evil spirits" since there is no soul that can ascend.
