Social Security is not a handout. The worker and the employer pay into it. The worker can claim SS when they reach a certain age, which is getting older and older. You are not paying mine and if you are it is only because it 0went somewhere else, stolen or to an illegal both of whom didn't deserve it or earn it. It may be a pnzi scheme but the money never went into a lockbox like the politicians used to say.
