They don't want them for historical reasons as you can see their involvement in Black September in Jordan, the Lebanese civil war, and Egypt has a stronger border with Gaza than the Israelis. Egypt was the occupier of Gaza pre-1967 and they did not want it back either with the Israeli-Egyptian peace deal of 1982.
