The injunction against graven images was against objects of worship, not against representational art.

The better translation of Luke 17:21 is "the kingdom of God is in your midst." Which was Jesus himself, right there in front of them.

If you think people believe graven images make a place holy, you don't understand them at all. They are not as stupid as you imagine them to be. But you seem to specialize in thinking your imagination is reality.
