Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evolving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Rules For the rest of the Site also accessible on the sidebar.

I’m a Texan. It was a good day today. I’m gonna take the “W”. This war is long. This war is tiring. I’m going to be happy when I can be. Thanks to all Patriots!

Who saw the letter Melania Trump supposedly wrote to Vladimir Putin? Did anyone look at the signature? Who believes Melania writes like that? I don’t!

The Unlikeliest Leaders vs. the Invisible Empire
If Hollywood pitched it nobody would buy it. A brash New York billionaire who tweets like a barroom heckler. A Russian spook who climbed from a KGB desk to the Kremlin throne. A Chinese princeling once sidelined and humiliated now the iron grip on Beijing. Three men who should never have made it past the velvet ropes of global power yet here they are running the show.
Why unlikely? Because the script was already written. The system wanted smoother actors Hillary Navalny Hu Jintao’s technocrats. Reliable placeholders. Safe pairs of hands to keep the gears of finance war and surveillance oiled and running. Instead history served up three misfits with a taste for sovereignty.
And here’s the punchline the people who were never supposed to lead their countries may be the only ones capable of breaking the spine of the common enemy the global cartel hiding behind acronyms climate summits and central banks.
They play enemies on stage of course. Trump calls Xi a dictator Putin jabs at NATO Xi lectures about American decline. But the subtext is clear all three know they’re boxed into the same corner. If they don’t push back on the parasite with ten thousand arms draining every nation their own people and their own power get swallowed.
That’s the battlefield inside their own walls
Trump fights the permanent bureaucracy of Washington spies prosecutors media conglomerates bent on erasing him through investigations and lawfare.
Putin fought the oligarch clans ex-KGB networks and globalist assets that tried to keep Russia bound to Western finance in the 1990s. His survival depended on purging or co-opting them.
Xi used his sweeping anti-corruption campaign not to reform but to gut China’s deep state before it gutted him.
On paper they are rivals. In reality the alignment is by necessity. They are not allies by choice. They are allies because the common enemy is bigger than all of them. Each was unlikely to rise. Each was underestimated. They rose. And now they fight an enemy most of the world still can’t see.
Thats the problem with movies. Nothing that feels attractive as a story is ever realistic. Nothing realistic can ever work as a good fiction. Except, of course, when these stories are told in the future looking back at the operation. It wouldn't be fiction - more like documentary, but it would kill the box office.
I've been so busy working that I haven't posted here much.
But I haven't forgotten you guys.
Y'all kept me sane at a point when the world had gone utterly mad.
Thanks.
