The stage we are entering, while necessary, contains all sorts of slippery slopes that can come back to haunt just as the Patriot Act did. The problem with government is that NOTHING is ever temporary and that even bad precedent is promulgated for eternity. These are scary times and while I cheer for the round up of the bad guys, I pray that these laws, decrees and precedents arent used against us in the future.
