It's odd that, some have written, when Prince Vlodomyr of Kiev - himself a Christian - seized Khazaria putting an end to its existence in 985 AD he did not mint his own coins but continued using the ones minted by the Khazarian Kaganate because they were already recognized as being valid currency. Over time the tamga on their coinage was adopted as the symbol of Kiev and then Ukraine.
I like to think that the modern Ukrainians see it as a symbol of Ukraine and not of Khazaria but, even if that is so, the surviving Khazarians know what it is and they are laughing at them behind their backs. Or to their faces.
Come on, a nation full of Nazis elected a Jewish Prime Minister and a Jewish president and now a large portion of the adult male population is dead and gone just a few years later. They were killed while waving a flag that honored their ancient enemy.
