Hospitals all over the country are facing financial difficulties because they are required to treat illegal aliens who know this fact. The illegal aliens clog up the emergency rooms of hospitals because they have a cold. They get treated and don't pay a dime and the hospital has to eat it. Similarly, when gang bangers shoot it out, the bullet ridden survivors end up in the emergency rooms and get treated and eventually are discharged and don't pay anything for the treatment they received. Eventually, the hospital goes out of business.
In the 90s we started losing out community based independent hospitals to mega health systems that were buying them all up. This should have NEVER been allowed. There is an illusion of choice in healthcare today, and this has driven up costs because there's no competition anymore. By me, I had 6 hospitals within 20-minute drive. One is shuttered, and the other 5 are owned by one of the 3 mega healthcare system. Rural hospitals really got screwed because they were basically boxed out by the mega systems so they would close down, or they were just bought out and turned into out patient clinics. Healthcare in America is a fucking money making Juggernaut, and patient care is assigned a dollar value.
Now that we all know (or at least most of us here), we can start to change that. I personally don't rely on health or dental insurance or any of the medical systems.
I do alternative and I have a holistic doctor with bio-feedback machine. Take care of most problems myself with natural meds.
I had an outpatient procedure to qualify for the actual procedure needed as required by my insurance. The procedure took less than 2 minutes and they charged $7800 for each, and my responsibility for the remainder was $1000. Insurance and hospitals are both ripoffs
That’s a nice sound bite, but….. are you going to staff these hospitals with foreign doctors? Are you going to force med schools to open admissions to more American students? Are you going to teach med schools about how to keep people healthy or will they just be pushing the same old pills?
Yeah honestly if Trump doesn’t deliver on H1-B’s and foreigners then it’s a huge disappointment. Immigration is the #1 issue legal or illegal. We want foreigners gone period

Yes. It's such an upside down world.

Private equity in healthcare has contributed to thus utter disaster as well.

Of course. It's all a rip-off with them.
I agree with this decision. Decentralization is the only way out of this mess, TBH.
I know a doctor who worked in rural Arkansas. Yes, it's hard to find doctors or health care providers.

I know some of the doctors who work there. One just retired because of all the bullshit of LGBTQ and what not.
Some of the nurses have to make the trips.

Major Urban Medical Centers in California should not be receiving this money.
Nope. No money for CA, period.
I don't know. The word Democrat is no longer a good word just like the word gay used to mean happy.
Got you.
