No. No misrepresentation. The timing of other events is irrelevant. Anyway, if you watch the video you’ll see that the recent presentation of the citizen stat is because of the recent revelation that the leftist FBI had been lying and using a “stat” that was only 10% of the real number.
You’re talking about the armed citizen killing the robber. Is that because you want to conjure sympathy for the robber as theft is a not a capital offense? The issue isn’t the theft as much as it is the armed robber endangering or taking someone else’s life with a gun. Anyway, the presentation didn’t use the word “kill” and instead used words such as “thwart” and “stop”. There are probably many instances of the criminal shooter being killed, but that’s not necessarily what is being measured.
Also, some mass shootings have begun with a single victim at a place like a gas station. Maybe they wouldn’t have become mass shootings if an armed citizen had stopped the criminal shooter before the second victim, or even before the first target was shot. During Elliot Rogers’ mass shooting rampage he shot a solo man at a delicatessen, and here’s a mass shooting at a gas station.
Instead of falsely accusing people of falsely implying that single-target shooters are mass shooters, perhaps consider that stopped single-target shooters may have become mass shooters if they weren’t stopped, and more importantly, that single-target shooters are dangerously important criminals as they are.
