Yep I live in a community that once housed a state hospital for this exact reason. Although their were some problems with experimental procedures. I believe we can correct that now. Once the hospitals shut down we were flooded with crazy homeless people. They need a place to be rehabilitated and be productive citizens.
A while back on this board when talks about Reagan and so forth all his accomplishments, there were many of us that wrote how many disasters for our country and the family unit, no fault, divorce etc. happened. I mentioned the closing of the mental hospitals and how the streets were flooded and it really catapulted the homeless !!! man did people slap me down saying that had nothing to do with the homeless it certainly did. Yep Reagan closed them and California homeless flooded the streets , many mentally ill and should not have been on public streets .
