Our “alignment” with Russia as a Nationalist nation is in process. But it will be slow. We have at least 3 living generations where the majority has been firmly brainwashed to dislike and distrust Russia, regardless of any positive things they do worldwide. Currently all those positives are only seen as Putin’s continued positioning to work with China and other Countries on the continued absolute economic rule of the Earth. Up to the point it can become political and physical.
I’d like to think Gen X and Y could pull their patriotic heads out in time to see the facts of Russia now being no different than the US itself once was before WWI; nationalistic and focused on its own people and business. But at least most of Gen X and possibly Y will be either in rest homes or the ground before that clear peaceful reality of working together takes hold.
Yes it’ll happen but realized a few decades from now.
I'm glad someone said this, I think the same. But I don't just think it's in our side. Many Russians I've met distrust us too. Their opinion on Trump changes as much as the Republican opinion on Putin. Putin himself is also undeniably former KGB in his thinking. There won't be a changing of the guard while he's around, JMHO
Agreed. But people should see the obvious, if Putin really wanted to restore the USSR and rule the world with China, they could’ve easily done it already. Especially during Obama’s last term or during Droolin Joe’s.
And the Russians have done nothing except take the land back Obama helped Ukraine steal back in 2014. China on the other hand has done everything economically to position themselves to rule the world. I’m both very surprised and not surprised they haven’t made any massive militaristic moves; outside Navy buildup.
Agreed. But I'm not going to ignore how China and Russia are positioning themselves closer in the meantime. BTW this has nothing to do with Trump. I believe him when he says he thought he and Putin were on the same page. He's reacting to this stuff too. We're attacking every major Russian oil buyer, their main export, with tariffs for a reason. Gloves off.
Or it’s a show my fren. Trump knows the US Public won’t trust Putin. So Trump and Putin are giving a show to both sides, to ease slowly with some minor economic conflict, and in a few years close ahead, deals will be brokered to ease the tension more toward trust. It must “appear” almost cultural normal for our distrust before we can trust. Enjoy The Show. 😉
