Israel Exposed ‘Arming, Funding and Training’ Drug Cartels in ‘Shadow War’ Against America
Evidence is mounting that Israel---America’s so-called closest ally—has for decades been covertly arming, training, and funding drug cartels. These are the very cartels now waging war on America’s streets, poisoning communities with fentanyl, heroin, and cocaine.
And here’s the kicker: U.S. taxpayers are footing the bill. Every year, Washington sends Israel over $3.8 billion in military aid, making it the single largest recipient of American foreign assistance.
Yet while Americans struggle under a historic drug epidemic, their tax dollars appear to bankroll a state arming and funding the very cartels driving the crisis.
The Colombian Scandal: Israel Trains Escobar’s Killers
In the late 1980s, Colombian authorities exposed Israeli Colonel Yair Klein on videotape, training Medellín Cartel death squads.

His recruits? Henchmen of Pablo Escobar and Gonzalo Rodríguez Gacha---death squads that slaughtered judges, journalists, and government officials.
Shortly after, caches of Israeli-made Uzis were found on cartel ranches.
Officials insisted the Israeli government knew. Klein himself admitted his company’s activities were approved by Mossad.
Despite his conviction, the Israeli government slammed the door on extradition, safeguarding one of their own and keeping the truth buried.

Mossad’s Drug Money Machine
Colonel Klein wasn’t a rogue mercenary. Former Mossad officer Victor Ostrovsky revealed that Israel’s spy agency tapped directly into the Thai heroin trade in the late 1970s.
Here’s where it gets dark. Israel funneled these drug profits into covert psychological operations on U.S. soil.
As Ostrovsky explained, these operations that were not only illegal but aimed at manipulating American policy and undermining foreign diplomacy.
In other words: Israel’s intelligence apparatus allegedly used the drug trade as a piggy bank, with America the ultimate target.
Cartels Armed with Israeli Spyware
Fast forward to today, and Mexican cartels are equipped with Israeli-made spyware. Originally sold to Mexico’s government, the tech fell into cartel hands through corrupt backchannels.
The Israeli spyware gives Mexican cartels the ability to monitor rivals, law enforcement, and even U.S. federal agents.
Meanwhile, Israeli nationals have surfaced in Mexico tied to money laundering and cartel-linked criminal networks, with some assassinated in broad daylight in Mexico City.
After reading the L.A. Times article, the claim that Israel trained Colombian cartel militia members appears to be ambiguous for a number of reasons.
The article mentions that the militias were not owned or controlled by the cartels at first but funded and established by farmers and ranchers for the purpose of fighting against Communist rebels before they were taken over by the Cartels.
Colonel Yair Klein, who was allegedly involved with the training of the cartel militias claimed that the Colombian government knew of his activities and that he was only training farmers and ranchers to fend off Communists.
In order for his story to check out, he would have had to have been training these militias before the cartels took over although it is possible, he could have been involved in training them after the cartel takeover, but because the article does not give us a timeline of events, we cannot say for certain.
The cited AP item does not give us much information as to who the Israelis were who were killed in a drug deal or money laundering scheme gone bad and therefore, we cannot say that they were government agents. Every nation has its underground criminal elements and we cannot expect Israel to be any different.
In his X post, Ryan Matta claims that the Mossad might have been acting as a U.S. proxy in Latin America against Communists which would mean two things:
If the Mossad was involved in funding drug cartels as a counter against Communists, they did so with US support and approval.
If Israel was acting as a US proxy, that would completely destroy, or a least call into question, the claim that Israel has been controlling US action and policy as proxies are the ones being controlled and not the ones doing the controlling.
Matta also explains in his post that just because Mexican drug cartels may be in possession of Israeli spyware, that doesn't mean they bought the spyware directly from Israel but may have instead received it from corrupt Mexican officials. If you think the Israeli government is corrupt, the corruption within the Mexican government is probably even worse.
