Back in the day, sex and sex education was not anything a middle class kid even thought about, until puberty started to happen, we were allowed to be kids, we were not shipped to daycare, we had routines, parents were not spending thousands on kids sports, kids were not scheduled to within an inch of their time. It figures that children who are raised like this are undeveloped, so when they reach maturity, natural development, experience, parental guidance, leaves a huge hole. Add to that the over sexualization of the teen age years, the race to have sex with someone before legal age, the ridicule of kids who are not ready for that yet. We had boundaries when I was growing up, sex was something that parents did, grown ups did, and for many, when finding out about the facts of life, we went yuck, my parents dont do that. Telling yourself you are not a man, or not a woman,I think, is the avoidance of maturity, so many of these kids never experienced wholesome childhood, from the time they start walking, the "childhood development" is pushed toward adulthood, shaping the child the way they do in communist China. So, when western kids play house, and the girl wants to be the doctor, suddenly all these childhood games are pushed toward an adult outcome. It is overly analyzed to be much more important than it really is, but then liberal parents decide to direct the kid toward an identity. "OH! My child identifies as a boy! OH! My child identifies as a girl! Just stop the shit. Your child is playing, innocently, and you want to dump sexuality on it? Puberty is a big difficult time for some kids, you are stepping out of childhood, too early for our culture, we have no traditions anymore for coming of age, no guidance, no celebrations of what our grand roles as men and women will become. Instead of elevating the differences, they are trashed as being some sort of imprisonment, instead of taking a boys sense of adventure and physical nature, or a girls natural leaning toward nurturance and design, her intuition, we are expected to believe that those are constructs, instead of biological nature. I talk about animals a lot, I raise them and live with them and care for them. I can tell you that biological sex shows itself early, from birds to goats, dogs to cats, there is a difference. Some are breeders, some are not, but not one of them is confused. Passive men? Sure, they exist, don't pick on them and call them a girl, that is sexualizing a personality trait. Pushing a thoughtful contemplative or artistic boy into thinking those traits have anything to do with sex is wrong, we used to call those men great thinkers, scholars and gentlemen, not buy dresses for them!!!! I come from a long line of strong Irish women, they raised their kids and did back breaking chores, worked from dawn till bedtime, ruled the roost when the husband was away at work. That did not make them "manly" Both parents were the rock and the cradle for their children, but had different things to offer. Please leave the children alone and dont have them if you cannot enjoy their childhood with them, it is so fleeting and so magical, without any adult agenda on them. Let the children be, and teach them about a loving Christ, HE taught us that is where the Kingdom of Heaven is.
Oh thank you, I lived a pretty long time, turned 75 this year. I give a lot of thought to situations, I grew up in the 60's that is when I came of age. I had one foot in the past, and one foot in the imagined future, and then they started killing Kennedys, and our high school boyfriends went off to Viet Nam. Some never came back, the rebellion of youth was confusing for some. We loved the new music, we loved that young bands and musicians were on tv, growing tired of Dinah Shore and Andy Williams, but many of us did not love the sudden plummet into immorality, I guess I held to my guns, but failed sometime. I see so much social engineering going on that only makes sense in a diabolical sense, none of it advances communities or families. I guess its the inevitable fall of civilization that occurs when power and money become the golden calf, yet again, we cycle and cycle and cycle. The true rebellion is getting off that wheel, but be in the world, but not of the world. I was once a liberal, when it had to do with helping the poor in bad neighborhoods, when it had to do with wanting to give poorer people an equal standing to rise themselves up. My father was dirt poor growing up, but life was simple for men then, if they had intelligence, a moral compass and a good work ethic. It was simple. Then the system got involved and completely messed it up, then it took over education, medicine, almost everything, so we are forced to play within the system to survive. People lack the experience or the courage now, to get off the wheel and refuse to play.
