Many years ago, an old man told me to “watch Ukraine”
At the time, “Ukraine” wasn’t on anybody’s radar.
I thought it was an odd thing to say, and asked him why I should be watching Ukraine
He just said that Ukraine was the “bread basket” of that part of the world, much like the midwest is the “bread basket” of USA
So i just kept paying attention, every time Ukraine came up
ChatGPT: The Ukrainian famine of 1932–1933, known as the Holodomor (from the Ukrainian words for “hunger” and “extermination”), was a devastating man-made famine that killed millions of people in Soviet Ukraine. It arose during Joseph Stalin’s forced collectivization policies, which requisitioned grain and other foodstuffs from Ukrainian farmers while restricting their ability to keep or trade supplies. Harsh quotas, blacklisting of villages, confiscations, and restrictions on movement prevented starving peasants from seeking relief. While scholars debate the precise death toll—estimates range from 3 to over 7 million—there is wide agreement that the famine was not a natural disaster but the result of deliberate policies that targeted Ukraine’s rural population, crushing resistance to Soviet control and erasing a cornerstone of Ukrainian national identity.
So creating a famine in Ukraine is not without precedent,
And as I watched the supposed war between Russia and Ukraine drag on;
And I hear about millions of Ukrainians leaving Ukraine,
I have to wonder if the real reason for this “conflict“ is to destroy the food supply, destroy the bread basket
Now look at the United States…
We have our own bread basket, and we have a whole lot of immigrants that do a whole lot of work in that bread basket.
And just like in Ukraine, the people who do the agricultural work are leaving
This is labor intensive work that needs to be done in a very timely manner as crops will rot on the vine
You may not like the illegal immigration situation, but it’s been like this for a really long time, and our entire agricultural sector is built on migrants moving from one state to another state to keep up with agricultural work
And we celebrate as millions of these migrants leave the country
It just looks to me like there’s a coordinated attack going on in the bread basket in Ukraine and the bread basket in America….
Legal farmworkers = good. Illegal aliens = bad.
