This is a Christian nation. It will always be. If youβre Muslim, good on youβ¦itβs your soul and do with it what you will. But DO NOT think you will remove, replace or even overshadow our faith! We will send you to Hell early.
Nope. Not a Christian nation, except in pockets. I do not say this cheerfully, but honestly, as a former atheist of 40 years: this has become a secular nation, which is simply an atheist nation. Christian denominations do not contest it; they hunker down in their churches and repeat pieties to each other. They send their children to secular colleges and universities and wonder why the youth lose interest in the church. Mention of Providence has dropped out of motion pictures maybe 60 years ago. The concept of "Christendom" is never spoken of or understood. Practices such as abortion and euthanasia have flourished, not withered. Sexual perversion is flagrant and unabashed, even popularized. It has become fashion, even within some churches. When all around we are becoming Sodom, it is quite wishful to think "This is a Christian nation. It will always be." I think more resources are spent on evangelism in other countries, than in our own.
It used to be that the etiquette of not discussing religion in a group was meant to avert discordant argument between Christian denominations---not to silence any support of Christ. Now, people take it as etiquette to be silent about Christianity versus atheism, and that is a terrible mistake. Now, our lives depend on it. What do you suppose would happen if Islam did prevail in this country, and we had a caliphate...and death for unbelievers? "Oh, that couldn't happen!" Like Hell, it couldn't happen. We have already gone from being a Christian nation to being an atheist nation, fighting lies in every direction. There is no one to blame but CHRISTIANS...for failing to defend the faith. Complete failure. Hiding in their sanctuaries, either to forget the surrounding world or to utter impotent pronouncements against it.
I have come in from that world. I try to warn my fellow congregants, but they just don't see the threat. They are too comfortable. A word to those who will heed: If you don't know how to explain Christianity to a non-believer in about 5 sentences, you have failed your faith, utterly. It can be done in that or less. Learn how, and put yourself behind it. Maybe you need to reconsider whether you really believe or are just going through the motions. I will admit that I am not used to it, but I think I could do it in 5 sentences with a face of stone. And why would saving someone from Hell be a bad thing? That part, they have right.
