I’ll preface this by saying that I am not anti-DMSO.
The reason that FDA won’t approve DMSO for human use is because it has never passed double-blind clinical testing because of the well-known effect of the garlic-like taste in the mouth after application in many test patients. This allows test patients in the test group to determine which group they are in. This violates the clinical trial protocol. This was in the days before EUAs became a thing.
It doesn’t smell like garlic.
In many individuals, probably related to some genetic differentiation, the subject will perceive the taste of garlic in the back of their mouth. This violates the clinical trial protocol.
I’m glad you are finding relief using DMSO. It just can’t pass a double-blind clinical trial for certification in humans.
BTW, these protocols are regulated by international agreements and the US FDA application of the protocols are used worldwide.
I'm already aware of this information. I'm stating that I don't ever experience the garlic smell side effect, because so many seem put off by it bc of the garlic side effect.
As I noted, it is probably genetically related. You don't have it, I don't know, never used the stuff. I can curl my tongue all sorts of ways, some can't. I don't have blue eyes, some do. Those are all genetically related traits.
I have borderline severe COPD, probably as in my Navy career I was exposed to a lot of asbestos, it was everywhere. When an A/C went off the forward catapult little flakes of asbestos drifted down into our food, the dining hall was underneath the flight deck.
I have tried a steam vapouriser with DMSO and a touch of sea salt, now I can walk to the bus stop without having to rest and can walk around the hardware shop reasonably well, its a big shop.
It has two chambers, one for the water to make steam and another one for the medicine to bubble the steam through for inhalation
It's German made effort called Beurer SI 40. I put half a cup into each chamber, sorry I can't be more precise. I did have a portable one but it wasn't reliable and used 2/3rds water with 1/3 DMSO with this. I didn't want to boil neat DMSO as I didn't know what that would do to me.
Newbie DMSO Guinea pig here! Anyone have experience with topical DMSO for COPD, lung cancer, etc.? How often do you use it??
I did some searching because of this link. THANKS OP T_I !
I just ordered the topical DMSO. The topical is absorbed to the organs very rapidly, implying one does not have to breathe it or take it by mouth. Some articles recommend starting with diluted topical. I got the 70% pure DMSO diluted with 30% aloe. Then go to 100% DMSO, etc. or other delivery means.
Nebulizer: plastic can be affected by DMSO. Recommended if plastic: "High-quality, food-grade BPA-free plastic." I haven't looked into yet what my nebulizer is made of. Starting with the topical . . .
lost...password fren posted using a steam vaporizer with DMSO helped . . . I will definitely keep that in mind! Breathing steam is beneficial as it is.
So "slow and steady as she goes" . . . Thinking (after the 24 hr. patch test) once a day??
Will report back if I have anything to report. Not sure how to tell if it is working. Next CT scan not until early Nov. No pain. Breathing improvement is hard to judge.

Maybe they can tell both groups they're taking a garlic supplement.
Interesting.
I lather the liquid all over me. Never once have I smelled like garlic. It's definitely helping to clear my lungs.

I feel like it could be that or something else people are eating that's reacting to it.
How hard would it be to put a drop or two of garlic into some or all of the placebo batches? 🙄
It would likely violate the protocol.

Thanks. What is your DMSO dosage to put into the vaporizer? How often do you do it?

I hope it helps too and it can't hurt, THANK You!

Thanks frens!
If true, someone tell Jake "The Snake" Roberts.
Oh, he SHOULD be dead, many times over--and he knows it.
Long story short, Diamond Dallas Page saved his life and got him clean.
Roberts still smokes, though.
DMSO smells like oysters to me, not garlic.
Kek!!! Okay. Make your three words count!
