They shot into the protestor crowd and killed 22 people apparently. Also, it seems the protests are about systemic political corruption as much as the social media ban.
The political protest was already well into swing before the shooting started. Nepalese government are finding out, real quick, their population outnumbers them and their protective forces by a lot. Maybe some other countries should take heed to this.
